Make pacts. Break them.

PACTA is a real-time territory game on real maps. You start as one small country among twenty. Grow by conquest, by trade, or by talking your way into alliances, then decide when to keep your word and when to break it.

Every nation remembers how you treated it. Their opinion of you is built from things you can see and change: shared borders, trade routes, gifts, the forts you built along their border, the times you attacked them, the pacts you broke. Grow too big and everyone starts to fear you. Find a common enemy and old rivals become friends.

Diplomacy that remembers

  • Six kinds of pacts: trade, non-aggression, tribute, defensive, alliance and the unbreakable eternal alliance
  • Foreign trade needs a trade pact, so your first handshake usually matters most
  • Break a pact and you pay for it: gold, deserting troops, a traitor label and a grudge that lasts
  • Related peoples (similar colours) trade a little better and resist conquest a little harder

War with choices

  • Infantry, artillery, raiders and tanks, each strong against one and weak against another
  • Every country fights back automatically with a home guard, and a small country defends its home much harder against a giant
  • Line a whole border with barbed wire, hedgehogs or mines in one click
  • Air strikes fly in from your capital; air defence can shoot them down
  • A nuke wipes out a whole region and leaves fallout. Two air-defence interceptors can stop it, but the whole world will turn against you either way

An economy that matters

  • Markets, logistics hubs, railways, ports, mines, oil wells and universities, with roads that stay where you build them
  • Oil, coal, iron and black earth sit where they really are, and you only see the deposits on your own land
  • Seasons: frozen rivers in winter and mud in spring
  • Gold left in the treasury leaks away, so spend it on mercenaries, upgrades or something bigger

Maps Eastern Europe and the Baltics, built from real coastlines, rivers and terrain, plus random islands.
